Treatment of infectios ulcer with strong acidic electrolyte solution *
Chronic ulcers infected with methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus do not heal easily. We often find such chronic ulcers resistant to the various conservative and surgical treatments. In these cases, we have achieved satisfactory results with conservative treatment using a strong acidic electrolyte solution in water. We wash the lesion in the electrolyte solution. Due to its instability, the solution is stored in a sealed plastic bottle in a dark place and is used within 1 week after its production. Twelve cases of infectious ulcer are reported here . After treatment with the electrolyte solution, 6 cases were completely resolved , 2 were well granulated, and 4 showed substantial clinical improvement.
