A Case Report of Mixed Olfactory Neuroblastoma ―Neuroblastoma and Adenocarcinoma―
We report a case of mixed olfactory neuroblastoma with two histologically different appearances, neuroblastoma and adenocarcinoma. The patient was a 30 - year-old-man with a left submandibular mass. The submandibular mass was histologically diagnosed as an adenocarcinoma. From histological and immunohistochemical studies of the resected masses from the nasal cavity and the neck, we made a diagnosis of mixed olfactory neuroblastoma. Herein we discuss some of the diagnostic procedures for olfactory neuroblastoma and describe the importance of immunohistochemical staining.
