Clinical Application of Peripheral and Central Conduction Velocities Using Somatosensory Evoked Potentials
The peripheral conduction velocity (PCV) and central conduction velocity (CCV) were measured using the cerebral and spinal somatosensory evoked potentials. Reduced PCVs and/or CCVs significantly correlated with sensory disturbances due to neuromyelopathy, neuropathy and myelopathy. PCV and CCV are useful as indicators of functional disturbances of the central and peripheral sensory pathways.
