Surgical retrieval under general anesthesia of an inadvertent denture ingestion causing cervical esophageal perforation

Ingesting foreign bodies, such as a partial denture, is a relatively frequent occurrence among elderly patients with dementia and if the esophagus has been perforated, extra care in treatment is required. This case report is about an elderly male patient with dementia who required the surgical removal of a partial denture that was accidentally ingested and caused a cervical perforation.
